Labé : le marché des fruits fortement impacté par la fermeture de la frontière guinéo-sénégalaise
La fermeture depuis près d’une année de la frontière entre la Guinée et le Sénégal continue à impacter le quotidien des populations de la région administrative de Labé en particulier celles dont la survie dépend largement du trafic entre ces deux pays.
En plus des transporteurs, locataires et autres, les vendeurs de fruits semblent très impactés par ce blocage prolongé, a constaté sur place la rédaction locale de Guineenews.
Aux abords de la gare routière qui servait de lieu d’embarcation pour les véhicules en partance pour le Sénégal via Koundara ou Kédougou, la désolation est totale.
Habituellement remplie de monde, la gare est quasi déserte. En dehors des petits groupes de discussion autour d’un damier ou d’un café, des femmes étalent par endroit à même le sol des oranges et des avocats qui peinent apparemment à trouver preneur. C’est dans cette situation de désespoir qu’elles ont accepté de répondre à nos questions.
« On est là à attendre des clients qui se font désirer. En plus des fruits que vous voyez ici, j’ai des sacs qui sont stockés dans le magasin là-bas. D’habitude, c’est ma fille qui vend à la terrasse alors que moi je suis de l’autre côté avec les marchands qui achètent et embarquent les sacs d’orange et d’avocats pour le Sénégal. Mais depuis la fermeture de la frontière, c’est ici mon unique lieu de vente », explique Aissatou Sira Baldé, vendeuse de fruits.
‘’C’est une grosse perte pour les acteurs du secteur’’ renchérit Mamadou Alpha Sow, locataire de véhicules.
« Face à cette crise, on est obligé de brader l’essentiel de nos produits sur le marché local entre Labé et Conakry. Une situation qui a occasionné une forte baisse voire une chute des prix. Un sac d’avocats qui pouvait te rapporter 30 000 FCFA a du mal à avoir 100 000 GNF de nos jours. C’est une grosse perte pour nous les acteurs du secteur car c’est toute une chaîne qui vit de ce commerce » estime t-il.
« Imaginez-vous, on a même fait planter des avocatiers dans des champs entiers tellement que le trafic était fluide. Mais de nos jours, les avocats pourrissent sur l’arbre tellement que les gens sont découragés. Une cueillette qui te rapportait 50, 60, 70 000 GNF par avocatier ne gagne pas de nos jours plus de 10 000 GNF. Donc, beaucoup de personnes préfèrent maintenant trouver un autre job que la cueillette des fruits qui n’est plus rentable », ajoute Mamadou Alpha Sow.
« Nous revendons trois avocats à 2 000 GNF et parfois même 5 avocats à 2 000 GNF. Tout ce qu’on proposait à 5 000 GNF est désormais revu à la baisse. Si la frontière n’était pas fermée, on pouvait revendre les avocats à un bon prix aux marchands qui faisaient la navette entre les deux pays », déclare Maladho Diallo, vendeuse de fruits.
Pour Mariama Diakaby, le business des fruits est complètement touché par cette fermeture prolongée de la frontière entre la Guinée et le Sénégal.
« La situation est ainsi depuis la fermeture de la frontière entre la Guinée et le Sénégal à la veille des dernières élections présidentielles. Depuis cette date, on travaille à perte parce que là où tu pouvais facilement avoir 100 000 GNF, désormais tu peines à avoir 10 000 GNF. On continue à vendre des fruits, juste parce qu’on ne peut pas rester sans rien faire. Sinon, le marché est complètement gâté », soutient cette autre.
Vendeuse d’oranges au détail, Mariama Diouldé Mara raconte le calvaire des femmes. « Ce qui nous fatigue actuellement, c’est le manque de clients. Il y a tellement d’oranges en ville que les gens semblent ne plus s’y intéresser. C’est comme si le produit n’a plus de valeur alors que même la cueillette des oranges est très compliquée. Car, c’est souvent des femmes qui se prêtent à la tâche dans les villages. Et pour se faire, elles montent avec un sac pour cueillir et mettre dans le sac car c’est des fruits très sensibles », affirme-t-elle.
